Stargardt disease is a genetic retinal disorder that causes central vision loss. Our patient has shown significant improvement in visual function through electrostimulation therapy, gaining greater independence in their professional life.

Electrostimulation Treatment Process

Our Stargardt Patient from France: Visual Field Improved, Now Very Happy

In 2015, when my brother was struggling with Stargardt disease, we visited Dr. Osman Fıratlı Clinic in Istanbul. He had serious difficulty telling colors apart—green, blue, and red looked similar—and letters seemed to “move” while reading. Even reading the numbers on money was hard.

After ~1.5 months of care (22 sessions), things changed. He could see distant objects more clearly, distinguish the sea and small boats, and notice colors much better. ?

Now, in 2025, we’re back. This time our focus is further improving color perception—better distinguishing pink vs. blue, pink vs. red, and dark green vs. light green—and supporting comfortable, accurate reading.?
